Who I am

My work as a celebrant reflects my values, especially my deep, loyal, and caring commitment to family and friends, and my love for animals and nature. Everyone who knows me thinks of me as both a “people person” and an “animal lover”, who believes that all living beings deserve kindness, compassion and love.

I’m an adventurous soul, and I have travelled widely, from Morocco to Minnesota, from Cuba to Kenya, from Namibia to New Orleans, impelled by my passion for visiting new places, appreciating different ways of life, meeting people and making friends.

I also love to collect beautiful things, and I take delight in making my home a special place that reflects my personality and place in the world. Although I love to get a bargain, my friends know me as generous, not just with money, but with time, care, support, and affection.

My qualifications, skills, and experience

I have a Diploma in Celebrant Studies, and I have performed 25 marriage ceremonies over the last five years.

One of my key skills is the ability to put people at ease, so that my clients feel comfortable with me, with each other, and with what we are doing. It’s important to me that my clients can relax so they can enjoy their special day to the utmost.

My style is a blend of professionalism, respect, and a flair for creating fun, laughter, and joy. My four-decade career, as a registered nurse working in public health in a range of contexts from the community to large organisations, has given me confidence in dealing with all kinds of people and situations, as well as a highly developed capacity for empathy and care.

I am committed to designing and facilitating a ceremony that fulfils what my clients want, and doing so on time, and within budget.
